Monday:
Woke up early, and Pooh came to be my guide for the day. We walked across a sky bridge, and I shot of photo and short video clip of the Bangkok traffic. Not as many motorcycles as I thought might be in the streets, but sill, several people are using the motorcycle, to avoid the bad traffic conditions.
We hailed a taxi, and planned to go to the Bus station, then take a bus to "Ancient City" about 1 hour outside of Bangkok, but as we rode in the Taxi, the driver offered to drive us all the say, so I ask how much, he said about 200 baht ($6.42 USD) So, I said sure, and gave him 300 Baht for the ride. It was nice to have a private car, with air conditioning, I think better then riding the bus.
Ancient City is a tourist attraction, that has many recreated buildings, and objects that are found throughout Thailand. It was nice to see so many things in a huge park setting. We rented a golf cart to get around in. It was very warm on Monday, but overall I really enjoyed it. I took many photos there. I took my favorite photo of me, I am sitting on the steps the lead up to a mountain top. I got some great photos of Pooh. I find him simply adorable.
Afterwards we took a taxi back to the Hotel in Bangkok, and went swimming. The pool area at the hotel was very nice, sorry, no photos from that part of the trip. Well, I am still way to heavy for swim suit photos.
After taking a nap, we went to Silom Soi 4, (corrected), a street with many gay pubs. We had dinner on that street almost every night during my visit. I was just so relaxing, the weather in the evening was great, and you could sit outside and do some serious people watching. So many interesting people walking around.
A lady (hill person) was selling trinkets, and I bought a wrist band from her, but that was a mistake, she wouldn't leave me alone, and wanted me to buy more....
The waiter at "The Balcony" was named "Oui" and such a nice guy, very talkative, and gave great service, always making sure we had anything we needed. Dinner and drinks cost less then $10.
